Whatcha got cookin?

My black eye peas are soaking, the ham is deboned, and the onions are diced.
I think I will slide the pork loin in the oven in the morning and put the cabbage on.
If all goes to plan, I can throw the cornbread in and have everything ready for lunch.
(I can't do turnip greens..eww, eww and ewww.)
The big bowl to the right, that's likely to be lunch and supper.
Concasa with some chips..
We don't have any plans, likely to be asleep before 9:00 knowing us.
What's on your menu for tomorrow? What are you doing tonight?
Have a safe celebration and may 2010 be the best!

Weiners and Christmas.

This is our baby on the 13th. She was still bandaged up and still on her medications.
All was well for her under the tree.... ;)-"C" getting his Mario game for the Wii
He wasn't sure about this.
So that's what I've been hearing....
Oh, my.....See how red she is in the face?
My step dad pulled a *ahem* fart joke on her.
It was actually intended for my hubs, but they sat there instead...
I didn't know a thing about it, and really, the look on my face was probably priceless also.
I just busted out laughing when I uploaded this, I had forgotten about it.
Ok, so here's baby girl showing us she feels better for Christmas....
BUT, then I had to take her back to the vet on Monday. Seems she is having problems with her neck. She's been in some pain, so they put her on more medication. I felt so sorry for her she came home with a new collar and a pretty pink sweater.
She didn't allow the 1st one I ever bought her so I never bothered again....
She is feeling a lot better today.
I have finally gotten back into my Twilight reading.
I read the 1st two books, then summer happened.
Completed Eclipse and I should finish up Breaking Dawn tomorrow.
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and takes care for the New Year.

update...

She's still in the ICU. They unhooked her and let us visit today. They changed her antibiotics, thinking she may be getting an infection. She barely could make a whimper. She tried to stand up once, but just rolled over on her other side. She's so bruised she's uncomfortable. She did get a little stressed when hubby got out of her sight, she raised her ears up a little too.

My little girl

Bless her heart, she got out of our yard and was attacked by another dog yesterday.....
She's in bad shape at the University's small animal clinic...Sedated & getting fluids and antibiotics.
Wounds are not showing signs of infection...yet.
Her blood pressure is up from 5o last night to 80 this morning. There is now an 80# bag of concrete under the gate they all got out of.
I guess the other two dogs got her home.....
A neighbor told us today they were all up the street yesterday.
We sure do miss our wiener dog.
The miserable look on her face in this picture is because she is cold. This was from this past March 1st when it actually snowed here. We thought it was fun, her - not so much.

Small update.

Not much to report here. Thought I would share a few photo's I took last month.
I took this sunrise on October 2nd.
Meet Max. His human is a friend of ours.
This one is ours. I just love this frog.
I know weird, but he's been a habit of ours for MONTH'S now.
My son will check on him every morning before school and every afternoon.
I even look for him.
He has a little spot he sits in, and the grass is mushed down because he sits their so much.
To be a frog, I think he's the cutest.
And he can be loud.

Corey had a school play this past week and I've been trying to upload a video of it.
It's just not going to happen.
The topic was Feelin' Good.
Eating right and exercising.
**
Do you think maybe it's too much Facebook when your son builds his own Farm in the living room floor?
His may be better than mine though, he upgraded and added rocks to his.

Have a great week.
I need to go make my Thanksgiving grocery list. yayz!!

Summer must really be over

We went to my parents house today to help them get their boat out of the water.
The draw down on this lake will be in two weeks.
Today was forecasted to rain all day, so we rushed up there. Hubs got the trailer backed down.

Here comes pawpaw. One last scooter poot.
Perfect
Look a there!
She's out!
Work, work, work. They pressure washed and I scrubbed carpet. whew
Now we are at home.
It's already raining. Guess I will be doing some cooking while the Hubs watches his football games. I might join him.....maybe .

Goofing off.....

It's been a while.

Let's start with September 4th.
We took our camper to my mothers and this was the moon that night.
Corey climbed up on his bunk bed with his Nintendo and played, and we all sat outside under the awning enjoying the view. September 4th also.
I was still in bed on the 5th when I heard my son say, isn't it beautiful.
I had to get up to see what he was talking about. Here it is.
We left that Sunday and came back home. I cleaned the camper out, basically got it ready for the winter. This was probably our last trip until next year. I packed up all of our beach towels and bathing suits. Washed all the bedding and put all in the storage compartment under our bed. I think that's the cleanest it's been in a while. While I did that, my hubs got to work staining our porch. It was a project that we had started but was never completed a few months back. It looks really good. I'm so proud of how it came out.
He also cleaned out our flower bed around the mailbox. He planted bright pretty yellow mums, and filled in with straw around them. What a difference they made.
Fast forward now to the 12th. Yesterday we had family to visit us. We cooked out and talked about everything under the moon. It was a nice day....
(War Eagle)
Yesterday morning we went grocery shopping for our cookout and I bought this Pressure canner and cooker. A bloggy buddy of mine was doing a whole bunch of canning and It made me remember the days when I used to help my grandmother.
I thought it was about time to give it a shot.
Then we went to the market and bought some green beans to experiment with.
I hope it is a success. I hate my pictures turned out yellow. Any picture I take in my kitchen turns out this way.
Right now we are waiting on the "weight" to start jiggling......
Wish me luck that I don't have a new skylight shortly.
Now I think I will go look at other recipes of things I can put away.
Have a great week.
